 On Friday, October 30th, the Eastman City Selects will be honouring the memory of an alumni player, Rheal Berard.  Rheal played for the Eastman Selects in the first two years of the team's existence (2003-04 and 2004-05) and was selected for the All-Star team in 2005.  For his final year as a midget player he chose to "come home" and play with life-long buddies and teammates on the MSJ Wild Midget A team out of Morris/St. Jean, helping to lead their team in a highly successful season.  He went on to play with many of the same friends on the Junior C team out of St. Jean, the Red River Mudbugs.

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009 Rheal passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.  On the day of his death he had accepted his contract to the Navy and had spent the day excitedly telling family and friends the news.

He was a player who was passionate about the game and valued the friendships he formed through hockey over the years.
